Do you really believe that The Struggle for an equal education is really over?
The values of Black institutions like the family and church that once led the movement have now dissolved. The issues that affect the Black community go far beyond profiling in expensive stores… its about allowing Black youth to fall behind in education over and over again, and now expecting them to meet the demands of Common Core: thinking critically, higher order, and analytically—all with little or no help. What will it take to turn this around?
Very simply, more needs to be done, and more people need to be involved. In our digital book debut, we explore the challenges facing our youth through the camera lens… an artistic expression of our concerns.
