Yes, we are WASC accredited, and have been awarded the maximum term of 6 years.

What is the teacher to student ratio?

The current teacher student ratio is 20:1. We’ve maintained this ratio over the past 10 years.

What are the school hours? Extended Day hours?

The campus is open at 7:00 am, and closes at 7:00 pm. The regular school day begins at 7:45 am
and ends at 3:45 pm. CATCH’s Extended Day program begins at 3:50 pm, and ends at 7:00 pm.

What grading system do you use?

We use an online grading system powered by Powerschool. If you are a parent, please click
here to access our grading system. Log in information is given out to students and parents at the
beginning of the school year.

What is the school’s API?

CATCH’s current API score is 701.

What colleges have students gotten accepted to?

Students get accepted to CSUs, UCs, HBCUs, and private universities every year.

What is a charter school?

Charter schools are independent public schools allowed freedom to be more innovative, while being held accountable for improved student achievement. They foster a partnership between parents, teachers and students to create an environment in which parents can be more involved, teachers are given the freedom to innovate and students are provided the structure they need to learn, with all three held accountable for improved student achievement.

Do you offer AP classes?

Yes. Currently we offer AP Spanish Language, AP English Language, AP U.S. History, AP
Government, and AP English Literature.

What is the graduation rate?

Since we opened our doors 10 years ago, we have maintained a graduation rate of 95% or higher.
Our graduation rate is 100% for students who enter CATCH as freshmen.

What is the cell phone policy?

Cell phones are not allowed in classrooms. Students who need to make an emergency phone call
make use the designated main office phone.

How does nutrition and lunch work at the school?

District lunch is provided free of charge for all CATCH students.

Where has your step team traveled? Will it continue to travel?

Our step team has traveled in the past, and won many competitions across the country (Orlando,
Tennessee, Pasadena, New York and Atlanta) including the National Championship. CATCH’s
step team will continue to compete in national and regional tournaments.

Do you attend field trips?

Yes, we attend field trips every year to museums, art shows, plays, and the opera.

Heard about the magazine, how do I get involved? When do you publish?

Our annual magazine is student driven. We highly encourage all CATCH students to participate.
If you’re a parent, or community member, we invite you to drop by our main office to learn
about opportunities to participate.

When is graduation? Where?

CATCH’s 2013 graduation is on May 31st, 2013 @ CATCH High School (auditorium).

When is prom? Where?

Prom is on May 3rd, 2013 @ the Millennium Baltimore in Downtown Los Angeles.

When are state tests given?

State tests are administered during state mandated periods.
The California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE) is administered throughout the school year.
Sophomores typically take the exam during March. This year, students will be taking the exam
March 12th and 13th.
The California Standards Test (CST) is administered in April of every year. This year, CST
testing will take place the week of April 15th.

What kind of security do you have at school? Safety?

Security guards are on campus all day from the opening of the campus at 7:00 am, until the
closing at 7:00 pm.
