Meet CATCH High School’s New Principal Dr. Codio

Dr. Pierre Codio, an accomplished teacher and administrator, joins CATCH Prep Charter High School as its next principal beginning Fall 2017.

After a rigorous and extensive process, CATCH Prep Charter High School is pleased to announce that Dr. Pierre Codio has been selected as its next Principal beginning this 2017-2018 school year.

A Leimert Park resident, Dr. Codio grew up in the Baldwin Hills area of Los Angeles and attended high school at the prestigious Harvard-Westlake School on a full scholarship.  From there, Dr. Codio attended Boston University and was chapter president of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity.  With a Master’s from Cal State Los Angeles and a doctorate from USC’s Rossier School Of Education, Dr. Codio is an expert in school leadership and brings to CATCH a wealth of experience and knowledge in connecting students to their goals for college, career, and life success.

A former classroom teacher and a charter school administrator, Principal Codio is excited to be joining the CATCH family as its instructional leader this school year and beyond.  When asked about Dr. Codio’s vision for CATCH, Founder and Executive Director Pat Smith said, “As we celebrate our fifteenth year serving students and families in the Leimert Park neighborhood, Dr. Codio is the perfect person to extend the CATCH Promise of guaranteed college access for all of our graduates.”

Dr. Codio is happily married to his lovely wife Shavon of four years and they have a three-year-old daughter who is a true CATCHKid in the making.
