The CATCH Board of Education announced that Superintendent Dr. Joshua Arnold is returning for another year, effective Tuesday, July 1st. At the one-year mark, the board has determined that Dr. Arnold and the Board are in full concert on the same vision for the leadership of the District.
During his tenure at CATCH, from Principal in the 2000’s to a return as Superintendent 10 years later, Dr. Arnold set in motion several progressive, innovative initiatives. These include plans to install system-wide academic interventions, demolish barriers standing in the way of student success; pursue total inclusion of special education students into the mainstream classroom, and establish Makerspace classrooms in each of the science spaces. These projects are committed to being completed in the coming years.
This past year, Dr. Arnold also upgraded CATCH’s brand and image, including an extensive #CATCHprep social media campaign.
“We thank Dr. Arnold for these and his many other contributions to the district,” Governing Board President Kimbell said.
The CATCH Prep Board of Education will look forward to continued superintendency immediately. As in the past, we will continue to engage our community and request their participation in all decision-making processes as we bring together the communities of Leimert Park, Culver City, South Los Angeles, and the City of Culver. The CATCH Prep website will keep all apprised of this process and progress.
As meetings are called throughout the LCAP process, our Board and Superintendent Arnold will be directly involved.
“We are thankful to retain Dr. Arnold and appreciate his experience in guiding future endeavors well,” President Kimbell said.
